English:

As the dictionaries show us, between the word "math" (math) and the word "aftermath" in the English language, there is an etymological difference of two centuries, during which the word "aftermath" from the original expression used for newly grown grass after mowing, acquired in accordance with historical and civilizational trends, new meaning denoting a period of time after a destructive, devastating event with all its consequences and effects, which can be observed and considered.

Thus, strengthened by globalization and countless replicas, many phenomena have reached cumulative proportions increasingly dramatically outlining the flow of the Anthropocene.

Another key term that represents the framework for the exhibition in front of us  is "crosstalks", which we can define as cross-considerations. This term refers to communication in which the interlocutors speak at the same time, hence important topics are avoided, or communication, disturbed by various frequencies, creates unpredictable noise.

(The effect known since the times of old telephone switchboards in form of  frightening intrusions into the conversations of two interlocutors, which  today has new interesting manifestations - in the seemingly orderly flows of the post-digital age, we come across even more intrusions, noises and unnecessary information, protocol repetitions or rituals that must be fulfilled, against the decreasing possibility of consistent communication of content).

The term "cross-consideration" refers in part to the negative potential of an individual to perceive profoundly phenomena and processes of our time, and to speak out about their consequences, existing constantly in deficiency of time for reflection or summoning up data, that would be inevitable for comprehension of the consequences of important events in one's own life.

From those that take place on the micro level, in the intimate sphere of partnerships and family relations, to the local communities, social groups, wider environments, up to those on the macro level, such as, for example, the COVID-19 pandemic, which since its appearance in China has spread throughout the world, canceling the complete possibility of travel, the entire seductive practice of tourism that "educates", "relaxes" and for a while "changes" life; cultural events that include gatherings as well as content offered by the entertainment industry; most intergenerational relations; traditional, religious and ritual gatherings - weddings, funerals, masses, engagements, baptisms and other ceremonies.

Then the epidemic was defeated in waves, in silence towards all the victims and all those who sacrificed themselves for the safety of others.

Many decisive battles are therefore behind us, but we are surrounded by their  consequences, wrapped in the narratives of political correctness, civilizational achievements and assumed normality, both on a personal and social level.

Therefore, cross-considerations, with the inevitable multitude of noises in communication, are addressed to the visitor of this year's 17th edition of the "New Technologies" exhibition, in a hybrid, multimedia form through the works of 9 artists, striving to shed light on the very events that determine our lives through the observed and displayed consequences, to which, in accordance with the mandatory protocols of modern existence, even if we would sincerely wish, we are not able to devote much time or attention.
